Music department

WSUM provides quality music programming without commercial interruption. Our DJs undergo rigorous training and their shows are hand-picked to ensure that we have a solid mix of great tunes on our air. DJs personally select the music for their own shows, giving WSUM a truly unique sound that goes unmatched by any other radio station. Genres range from familiar to extremely obscure because here at WSUM, all genres are considered equal. 

WSUM is also very pro local music. We have shows dedicated to local music, and love to work with local (and not-so-local) bands. If you are a musician and think that your material would rock our airwaves, prove it! Read on for information on CD submissions and possible in-studio performances or interviews at WSUM. 

Music Submissions 

At this time, WSUM can only accept physical CD submissions for airplay. Once received, the CDs are reviewed and basically given a "Yay" or "Nay." Please note: It is solely up to the DJs to pick the music, and every show is different.

Please take this into consideration when checking the status of your submissions. Turn-around for a submitted CD is on average 1-3 weeks, so feel free to contact the Music Director for tracking CDs.
