Snake on The Lake Fest

The date is set! WSUM's third annual Snake on the Lake Fest will be held on Friday, September 4th, 2009 during Welcome Week. The bands playing will be announced throughout this summer, and we are still open to any band suggestions or music preferences you may have! Snake on the Lake has been a huge success the past two years, and we hope to make it bigger and better than ever this year, so save the date! Check http://wsum.org for future updates.

We Don't Mess Around: Summer Send-off Raffle

WSUM had a number of super rad giveaways and we gave them to YOU.  Yes, you!  We raffled off a laptop, two pairs of passes to Six Flags, two pairs of passes to the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, and a pair of passes to the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival in Detroit Lakes, MN.  All proceeds will go towards Snake on the Lake Festival.

Do What MAMA Tells You

WSUM here with some exciting news!  We have been nominated for a Madison Area Music Award (aka a MAMA) for Local Music Radio Station of the Year.  So support your music scene and vote for the station, who always treats you right (*cough* WSUM *cough*).  You can register to vote as a "fan" until April 28, 2009 and a minimum $5 donation is required upon registration but hey, it goes towards a great cause.  MAMA puts the money towards funding youth music programs and putting instruments in the hands of kids who might not otherwise have them.  For heaven's sake think of the children!  They are the future.

The 6th Annual MAMAs will be held on May 9 from 7-10PM at the Barrymore Theatre...a good time for one and all.  For more information check out their website at www.themamas.org (the link from our website doesn't seem to be working so you'll have to physically type it into the address bar) and help a station out by getting your vote on.
